TOTCF 2 (Novel) Chapter 407

## C407

Cale surveyed the sanctuary area and then turned around.

Crown Prince Alberu spoke.

"It's beneath the Primordial Roots."

The sanctuary area was at the center of the Death Precipice, shaped like a cross. It existed beneath the only bridge connecting the Demon Kingdom at the point where the two canyons intersected.

"The reason the bridge disappears on the new moon is because of the Night of Pleasure."

Rosalyn spoke, and Alberu nodded.

The Heavenly Demon, who had been stealthily observing the surroundings, spoke.

"This whole city seems to be a single cult."

Like the demonic cult.

"Honestly, it's worse than the demonic cult."

While stealthily moving towards here, jumping over the walls, the group who had seen this city the size of a city silently agreed with the Heavenly Demon's words.

The numerous buildings they found on their way here.

There were houses, shops, and what appeared to be government offices.

There were more people than they expected.

It really looked like a city.

But compared to the vast expanse of land, the actual size was that of a small or medium-sized city.

Even so, it was a considerable number.

'Everyone here is a follower of the God of Chaos.'

Furthermore, those followers are fanatics who truly enjoy and worship the horrible ritual of the 'Night of Pleasure'.

'They are all enemies.'

Except for the people captured as sacrifices, Cale couldn't trust anyone here.

"It's strange."

Rosalyn spoke, and Cale's gaze turned towards her.

"Although they worship Chaos, this place is more orderly than any other. In a terrifying way."

It really was orderly.

"All the buildings face the sanctuary."

As Rosalyn said.

On the way here, all the buildings Cale saw had windows in only one direction.

Following that direction, what they saw was the sanctuary.

To be exact,

"They are oriented towards the Primordial Night."

The center of the city.

The Primordial Roots.

The sanctuary that existed beneath.

The 'Primordial Night' sanctuary at the center of the sanctuary.

All the buildings in this city had windows facing there.

Gashan, who had been listening silently, spoke.

"There's no grass or wildflowers here."

It was true.

Although outside the city there was a forest.

There wasn't any here.

"And there are no birds flying."

There were no birds.

No beasts.

"There are no insects either."

Not a single sound of insects could be heard.

"...There's no life felt."

Except for the followers of the God of Chaos, there were no living beings here.

Under the gray sky, only the followers existed.

"But even so, it's full of energy."

Gashan's expression was tense.

In this place without other living beings, the followers of the God of Chaos lived like normal people.

Laughing and chatting.

Furthermore, the atmosphere was strangely lively.

Although it would soon be night.

Under the gray sky where even the sunset couldn't be seen, they couldn't hide their excitement.

"They seem to be waiting for night to come soon."

After the Heavenly Demon's low voice, silence came.

Cale looked at his companions silently and then stopped his gaze.

Someone who had been silently looking at the sky for a while.

"Sir Eruhaben."

The Ancient Dragon Eruhaben took his gaze off the sky and looked at Cale.

"It would be better to split into two teams."

Currently, there were six of them.

"One team for the sacrifices, another to explore the sanctuary. Like that."

The sacrifice team should be led by Eruhaben.

He knew exactly where the people captured as sacrifices were being held.

"We must save the sacrifices."

It was the right thing to do morally.

And, most importantly, there was a great benefit in preventing the ritual for the God of Chaos.

The arrival of the God of Chaos.

To prevent it, they had to ruin the ritual.

"Gashan."

"Yes, Cale-nim."

"Rosalyn."

"Yes. Okay."

Gashan, Eruhaben, Rosalyn.

These three formed a team.

Even without Cale saying it, Eruhaben knew exactly what he had to do.

"There are four detention places."

East, west, south, north.

Along the inner walls of the four entrances to the canyon, the sacrifices were being held.

"The number of people is about 500."

In each place, there were between 100 and 150 people being held.

Eruhaben had already confirmed it.

Rosalyn continued.

"In the Demon Kingdom, you can't teleport."

They tried to move the sacrifices with a large teleportation circle, but it was impossible in the Demon Kingdom.

"But we only know one secret passage."

The secret passage they saw through Duke Hinpa. A path where only two adults could pass at a time. They couldn't evacuate 500 people through there.

It would take a long time, and the followers of the sanctuary wouldn't stand still.

Eruhaben spoke.

"The best way is to get all the sacrifices out at once."

One of those methods was mass teleportation, but that was impossible.

Cale's gaze turned to the sky.

Rosalyn, who also looked at the sky, spoke.

"Even if it's not teleportation, if we gather the people and lift them with wind magic to get them out of the canyon, it's feasible."

Lifting 500 people at once and getting them out of the canyon.

It wouldn't be easy, but with Eruhaben, Rosalyn, and Alberu, it was something they could try.

"But that gray sky is a problem."

Eruhaben had already thought of something similar to Rosalyn.

But there was an obstacle.

The gray sky.

"Won't users or semi-NPCs die or disconnect if they touch that gray mist?"

That was the rule of the game.

"Also, it's very likely to be the power of the God of Chaos. We don't know what will happen to the captured sacrifices inside that. We also don't know if we can go through it."

Eruhaben knew how vast the power of the God of Chaos was.

He had already seen it when it appeared in front of Cale.

"Hmm."

Rosalyn sighed.

Cale spoke.

"Let's do it that way."

He, who had taken his gaze off the sky, told the two great mages.

"Let's get all the captured sacrifices out through the sky and rescue them. That sounds good."

"But the sky-"

When Rosalyn began to speak, Cale continued.

"In Duke Hinpa's memories, the Night of Pleasure wasn't gray."

Eruhaben's expression changed.

"It was just night. A moonless night."

The real sky, without the gray mist.

In Duke Hinpa's memories, the Night of Pleasure was simply a moonless night.

"I don't know what it will be like in other places, but in the Primordial Night, where the sacrifice ritual takes place, the sky wasn't gray."

That day, they didn't know if the sky in other places in the city was still gray.

But in the Primordial Night, the stage where the sacrifices died, the sky was real.

"Alright."

Eruhaben made a decision.

"Anyway, Raon and Choi Han will arrive soon and wait outside."

Raon and Choi Han, who had entered the Demon Kingdom following the map Alberu left them, would arrive here.

Today, the moonless night.

If the gray mist disappears and the sky opens above the Primordial Night sanctuary.

"When we send the sacrifices later, Raon will receive them well."

"Yes."

That meant one thing.

"When all the sacrifices are in the sanctuary."

When the five hundred people arrive at the Primordial Night.

Before the ritual begins.

"Before the saint does anything with the sacrifices, let's send them all at once."

Eruhaben's gaze turned towards Rosalyn.

"Yes. We'll do it together."

Rosalyn's confident smile.

Tonight, all the followers will arrive at the sanctuary to enjoy and worship the ritual.

There, in the heart of the enemy, Eruhaben and Rosalyn will have to protect 500 people while sending them out of the canyon.

"I'm sure."

"Of course."

The great mage and the great dragon smiled naturally.

"Soon."

Cale looked at the clock.

"When the sun sets completely and the sky darkens."

When night comes.

"The ritual will begin."

In terms of time.

"It will be in about an hour."

Cale told his companions the schedule.

"After each team finishes their preparations, let's meet at the Primordial Night sanctuary."

Gashan, who was next to Eruhaben, spoke.

"If they followed the marks well, the Wanderers will arrive around that time, or a little earlier."

Wanderers Cho and Ryeon.

Although it wasn't intentional, they would arrive at the right time.

"See you later."

Eruhaben, Rosalyn, and Gashan left first.

Cale had a reason to keep Eruhaben and Rosalyn together.

'I don't know what will happen when chaos breaks out.'

Even if they couldn't save the people captured as sacrifices, they could protect them with shields and magic.

I'm here too. I'm good at protecting too.

The Indestructible Shield, the gluttonous goddess, showed her presence, but Cale pretended not to hear her.

'I don't know how it will turn out.'

At first, Cale only thought of making the cult of the God of Chaos and the two Wanderers fight to destroy the sanctuary.

'...I don't know how the cult of the God of Chaos will turn out.'

The Primordial Night.

If this sanctuary isn't just a sanctuary, but a place for the arrival of the God of Chaos, he didn't know what the cult would do to protect this place.

'And if it's a place for arrival, we must destroy it no matter what.'

Cale had a compelling reason to destroy this place.

Choi Jung Gun.

The divine artifact of the Blue Wolf.

Preventing the arrival of the God of Chaos.

They had to achieve three things.

To do that.

"Let's go."

Cale decided to move with the Heavenly Demon and Alberu.

The Heavenly Demon was the only companion who had manifested his singularity and possessed martial skills. Furthermore, he was the leader of the demonic cult. He would understand better than anyone about this type of cult.

And Alberu was superior in strength and magic.

'He's the person who knows my intentions best and will act in my place if I'm in trouble.'

He needed to have someone like that by his side.

If Cale fainted or entered some unknown state.

'He must give orders in my place.'

For that, he had to show Alberu the important places.

"Let's solve the mission conditions and the purification ritual in the archives."

[Go to the hidden place in the archives and obtain the 'Record of the Power of Chaos'.]

[Go to the Inverted Night and break the obtained record.]

"Then, let's meet at the sanctuary. When we're about to rescue the sacrifices, let's break the record in the Inverted Night, and the other two protect Sir Eruhaben and Lady Rosalyn."

The Heavenly Demon spoke.

"Is the Inverted Night the place where the saint performs the ritual?"
"Yes."

The Primordial Night sanctuary.

The place in the center was the Inverted Night.

The saint was there, making the people captured as sacrifices kill each other under the influence of chaos.

The Heavenly Demon nodded and added.

"And by the way, we can get the divine artifact for the Blue Wolf."
"Yes. Correct."

Whether in the archives or in the sanctuary where the ritual takes place.

Anywhere, there would be a divine artifact, so they could steal it.

In the midst of chaos, stealing that wouldn't be a big deal.

"And-"

Cale added one more thing they had to do.

Before meeting at the sanctuary.

If possible.

"If possible, let's check out the saint beforehand."

The saint.

He didn't expect to find him here.

But since it's the day of the ritual, he would also be here.

"Alright."

The Heavenly Demon smiled slowly.

"The saint and the Wanderers will fight each other."

"Correct."

That's the picture Cale expects.

The Fear of Chaos.

The owner of this skill, the saint.

What will the saint of the God of Chaos be like?

How strong will he be?

Will there be a Pope here too?

He had many questions.

To solve those questions, there was only one answer.

Sigh.

Cale breathed briefly and spoke.

"Let's go."

The temple. They only had to infiltrate it.

The Heavenly Demon knew exactly what to do to achieve it.

"Will stealing clothes from some low-ranking priests be enough?"

"Yes. It would be better if they are mid-ranking priests."

"That should be enough."

The Heavenly Demon took the lead and then his body disappeared.

He must have been using his martial skills.

Soon, Cale was sure he would have the priest's uniform of the cult of the God of Chaos in his hands.

'There's no time, so let's hurry.'

One hour.

It wasn't much time.

'Huh?'

Then, a strange thought came to his mind, and Cale stopped his steps.

At a time like this, someone who should be following Cale's footsteps was silent.

"Your Highness?"

Crown Prince Alberu.

He was standing behind, motionless.

Come to think of it, he had been silent for a while.

When the Heavenly Demon left for a moment, only Cale and Alberu remained.

"Hey."

The moment he heard Alberu's voice, Cale's expression froze.

Something's happening.

Cale had a strong feeling.

"A mission appeared."

A mission.

At this moment, there was only one mission that Alberu could receive.

"Is it the hero's mission?"

Cale had a reason to think that.

Buzz.

The sword hanging on Alberu's waist.

The Sword of the Sun.

A sword that contained the power of the God of the Sun, which could only be used by someone worthy of being a hero.

The sword vibrated strongly.

Cale finally realized that Alberu's body was glowing slightly.

Alberu looked at Cale.

Cale asked if it was the hero's mission.

Alberu replied.

"No."

Huh?

Before Cale could respond, surprised by the unexpected answer.

"...It's a mission from the God of the Sun."

Alberu replied.

"The owner of the Sword of the Sun is the God of the Sun, so he gave you a mission?"

"No."

"Huh?"

"The real God of the Sun."

...Huh?

Cale, unconsciously, let out a silly response.

"The God of the Sun we know?"

He nodded. Alberu nodded and looked into the void.

Chist chist.

A strange mechanical sound that only he could hear.

And a semi-transparent mission window, broken and torn.

Chist chist.

The mission window was disappearing in real time.

As if something that shouldn't appear was trying to erase its trace.

The mission window was a bright golden color.

<Finally I have reached you.>

Below that message, the mission was written.

<He who has inherited the power of the sun.>

Alberu was a quarter dark elf recognized by the God of the Sun.

He was also the crown prince of the Crossman family, connected to the God of the Sun by a legend.

Alberu was sure that this God of the Sun was real.

<Thank you and I'm sorry.>

The God of the Sun had always expressed his regret to Alberu.

No, he had expressed his regret to the dark elves and the necromancers.

Alberu realized that it wasn't the God of the Sun from the game, but the real God of the Sun.

Then, he suddenly realized.

'Come to think of it-'

Among the gods that exist in this game, the God of Chaos, the God of Hope, and the God of Rules are not there.

But the God of the Sun exists.

Although no one has actually seen the God of the Sun, many followers in this game believe in him.

The largest cult is that of the God of the Sun.

A massive cult, incomparable to the cult of the God of Chaos.

'And this world is becoming real.'

Didn't Cale say that they would soon be able to communicate with the God of Death through divine artifacts?

'And this world-'

There are many NPCs who worship the God of the Sun, who has no form and whom they have never seen.

Isn't it possible that the followers of a world that is becoming real can call upon the true God?

<I have a request.>

<Please stop the arrival of the God of Chaos.>

Alberu looked at the mission window that was being torn apart.

Chist chist.

The mission window finally tore and disappeared.

But,

Buzz.

Alberu tilted his head.

Somehow, he felt a familiar energy.

No, he felt a presence.

Where had he felt this energy before?

He grabbed the scabbard of the sword.

It was hot.

Roan.

His home came to his mind.

The warm rays of the morning sun that always illuminated him.

The warmth of those sunbeams touched Alberu's hand.

The mission window had disappeared.

But the sun of Roan that Alberu knew, that power, was contained in this scabbard.

He raised his head.

Under the gray sky.

But in his hand he held the sun.

"Ha."

Alberu had no way to express this ambiguous feeling, so he just let out a short laugh.

"...Do I have to become a real hero?"

He said that as he looked at Cale.

Cale understood the situation more or less.

He knew that through the plan of the God of Chaos' arrival, this world was becoming real and connecting with multiple dimensions, even with the gods.

That's why Cale only said one thing.

"Cool."

And seeing that silly expression, Alberu's face wrinkled.

"This is ridiculous."

For some reason, irritation welled up in Alberu.

But, anyway, the power of the sun remained in the scabbard he held.

A power that wouldn't fade in the night.

"The Demon Kingdom?"

"Yes. We must go to the Demon Kingdom."

"Is that where the divine artifact of the Sword of the Sun is, which carries the will of the God of the Sun?"

"Yes."

The saint stood up.

The highest-ranking holy knight of the cult approached her.

Sir Boltien.

When Cale looted the cult of the God of the Sun in the Western Empire and faced Bishop Serisa at the Imperial Academy.

He was there at that moment.

"I will go with you."

The saint of the cult of the God of the Sun and the holy knight.

The two representatives headed to the Demon Kingdom.

Without hesitation, quickly.

"Choi Han, let's hurry!"

Raon and Choi Han looked at the sky.

The sunset had passed, and the sky was turning dark blue.

It would soon be night.

"Our human, no matter what, will want us to get there fast! We must be by his side before he vomits blood and faints!"

At Raon's complaints, Choi Han, who was moving quickly, stopped his steps.

Whistle.

The Primordial Roots.

That place could be seen in the distance.

It was the place where they would wait for Cale.

"Huh?"

And he stopped.

-I become invisible!

The Primordial Roots.

There were two users there.

"Jejeje!"

"I'm recording."

"Jejeje!"

A strange person and another who ignored him.

Choi Han stopped for a moment, but soon approached them.

"Huh?"

And the two users. Among them, 'CrazyExhibitionist' looked at Choi Han with bright eyes.

It was the appearance of a new NPC from the Demon Kingdom.

Choi Han, who didn't know how to act, and Raon, who was simply cheerful.

A human and a baby dragon facing a broadcast user specializing in craziness.

And soon the saint and the holy knight would arrive.

Thus, a grand stage that Cale didn't know was being prepared in this place.

  1. So Cale has a streamer specializing in legends in Clopeh, now he's getting a new one specializing in craziness as well. He's probably only a temporary one but I hope he'll be a recurring character whenever Cale does something crazy in-game 😂
