TOTCF 2 (Novel) Chapter 417

## C417

Cale’s body leaned back.

But Cale didn’t fall.

“Human!”

Two chubby front legs touched Cale’s back, and a round head rested on it.

“I knew this would happen!”

The brave voice was becoming choppy, swallowing.

“Cough!”

Cale opened his mouth, but a mouthful of blood came out.

Hearing this, Raon said:

"Human, I'm fine! I’m not getting contaminated!"

Hearing those words, the Heavenly Demon extended his hand, but stopped.

Cale and he looked at each other, and Cale shook his head.

Trembling.

Still, his two hands were clasped around the sword.

“This damned sword!”

Blink, blink.

Cale closed his eyes and then opened them again.

He was about to faint, but he couldn’t relax yet.

The gray water disappeared.

And the gray smoke was also fading.

It will soon be over.

But it’s not the end.

Since the Heavenly Demon and Raon seemed to be calm, Cale opened his mouth again.

“Cough!”

But again, only blood came out. He didn’t have the strength to speak.

“Damn!”

Is it something more serious this time?

–Cale. Hey, it seems like the glutton needs time to digest.

The Crybaby, with his Vitality of the Heart and regeneration power, spoke in a trembling voice.

Boom! Boom!

Cale felt his heartbeat slowing down from before, and that he was also losing strength.

The Dominating Aura.

The Sound of the Wind.

The Sky Eating Water.

The Unbreakable Shield.

Even the formidable Super Rock.

Today, Cale used an immense amount of Ancient Power, pushing it to the limit - or even beyond - to oppose the Sacred Object.

“Cough!”

But Cale opened his mouth again.

He couldn’t stop now.

Among the vision, which was flickering slowly as if it was about to close, a gray forest could be seen.

And relieved devotees were observed - surely, they had also feared death.

“Still–”

But it’s not like that yet.

He spoke.

Just when he was trying to express himself somehow:

“It’s not over yet!”

Eruhaben’s voice could be heard.

Blink.

And through that vision, it could be distinguished:

“Choi Han…!”

Choi Han made his way fearlessly through the land from which even the gray water had disappeared, approaching where Cale was.

But his goal wasn’t Cale.
As expected, this guy seems oblivious; he has an instinct as bestial as an animal’s.
Besides, there’s a real animal.

“I’ll take care of it!”

Gashan responded to Eruhaben’s words, moving quickly.
Besides, Eruhaben had already stood up, summoning mana.

“Is it experience?”

Gashan, Eruhaben, and Choi Han - among the company, the oldest ones moved in the direction Cale desired -
The Ancient Dragon, Eruhaben, informed everyone:

“The ceremony is not over!”

That’s right. The gray water and smoke are fading,
but the ceremony is not over yet.
And the entity that initiated that ritual is still alive, and hasn’t stopped the ceremony.

The Saint.

Although he wasn’t visible to Cale’s gaze,
the Saint rose along with the gray water.
He was still there.

“Yes.”

Only by eliminating him will the ritual end,
and Cale will be able to free himself from this Sacred Object,
because the last resort used by the Sacred Object began along with the Saint’s ritual.

Chaeng!

Dark energy emerged from Choi Han’s sword.

“How dreadful!”

He, upon entering the gray forest and the moment a fresh breeze blew, realized that a terrible energy was still lurking in one place.
He ran in that direction.

“It’s not over yet.”

He knew very well what he had to do at that precise moment.

“The Saint.”

So that guy is the Saint:
the one who had plunged a sword into his neck and abdomen,
near the rock where Cale was,
lying by the lake, barely catching his breath.

“No, it’s impossible–!”

Although he was about to die, he hadn’t done it yet.

Gray blood.

From that guy, gray blood was flowing incessantly; unlike the other devotees, who after escaping the chaos stopped shedding gray blood, the Saint was the only one from whom gray blood was still flowing.

"It can’t be... How... the massacre...?"

The Saint murmured, as if he couldn’t believe it.
Choi Han reached him.
The Saint, who didn’t seem to even feel pain,
he was crying.

“Why can’t I hear…?”

He was sad.

“The chaos, fading away–!”

He was sad because the chaos had disappeared.
Thousands of screams and laughter…
especially, he was saddened by not hearing thousands of screams, since he had contributed greatly to those shrieks.
And now, thinking that those screams might never be heard again…

“Ah, no–!”

He, beyond being sad, was consumed by terror. In his gray eyes, someone’s face was reflected.

“……”

Choi Han, with an impassive face, raised his sword.

'It seems like he’ll die soon.'

The Saint’s condition was so precarious that he was barely clinging to life; it wouldn’t be surprising if he died at any moment.

“But I must finish everything as soon as possible, even if it’s for a moment.”

Gashan’s voice could be heard behind him.

“Since the number of sacrifices is missing, the death of that one person won’t complete the ritual! Rather, the ritual will stop!”

Hearing this, Eruhaben nodded.

He descended from the rock to the edge of the lake.

“Yes. I think that gray blood must be stopped.”

Cale, hearing all this, nodded silently.

“Okay, I guess–”

He could trust them to take care of what follows.

Blink, blink.

Cale’s eyes blinked more slowly than before.
His body’s vigor was gradually fading.

Trembling.

Although his two hands, clutching the Sacred Object, were still trembling, the strength had clearly diminished from before.

Swoosh–!

The wind blew.

He took a deep breath of that wind, and the cool night air of the forest seeped inside him.

It seemed like he could live a little longer.

A smile appeared.

Cale’s lips curved slightly. Anyway, he endured this time too–

“!”

Cale’s eyes opened wide.

–Cale!

The Dominating Aura.

—This is crazy!

The Sky Eating Water.

—...I’m not full yet.

At the same time, the Unbreakable Shield reacted.

Cale concentrated; he poured his last strength to avoid falling, and leaned on Raon to stay upright.

“Well!”

With Eruhaben’s somewhat pitiful voice,
Choi Han’s sword emanated an aura so intense that it could be seen on the rock,
and Eruhaben’s magic manifested.

But…

“Damn it!”

The moment Choi Han, in a soft voice, uttered those harsh words,

Tac, tac!

Cale took a step forward.

“Human!”

Raon shouted hastily.

“Human, I will protect you!”

Raon’s reason was clear.

Plaf!

Among some of the surviving devotees, several fainted immediately,
or collapsed trembling until they lost control of their bodies.

Uuuuu–!

With a strange sound, Cale observed the rock he was standing on.

It rose, and an entity could be seen that had ascended to the rock located at the highest point of this basin.

The Saint.

He approached, slumped, climbing upwards.

“My God…!”

The saint’s desperate cry could be heard.   But Cale only focused on the Saint.

With effort, he kept those eyes that were about to give way open.

The Saint’s eyes.

Gray eyes.

“Cough!”

Cale, having expelled blood, opened his mouth.
With difficulty, he managed to emit his voice, squeezing his strength beyond his limits.

“You, are you a god?”

Cale, the very moment he saw him, understood:
The Saint had died.
And those eyes, which were staring intently at Cale, were gray like the Saint’s, but different;
they were the same shade of gray that had once plunged him into terror.

Those eyes, without showing a smile or any other emotion, rested solely on Cale, and then they spoke.
But that voice was strange; as low as a whisper, it reached everyone’s ears:

–Chaos will always be by your side.

–In every moment of life, and in your heart, chaos will always be present, and you will soon face the truth that you had avoided.

–Those who have seen the truth.

That voice was truly strange; unsettling, and at the same time irresistibly alluring.

–Come to me.

Those who have seen the truth, come to me.

And there were those who responded to those words.

“Ah, ahh–”

The priest pulled a dagger from his robe and tried to plunge it into his own neck.

It was at that moment.

“Don’t talk nonsense! I warned you last time! If you mess with our Human and our family, I’ll completely destroy you!”

Raon’s clear and lively voice broke the brief silence.

“Nonsense?”

Cale was petrified, surprised by Raon’s vocabulary.

“Cough!”

But, having expelled a mouthful of blood, Cale regained his composure and said:

“You’re done.”

A slight giggle could be heard.

And, with effort, he slightly raised the corner of his mouth.

Because…

“I won’t let myself be consumed anymore.”

Even when hearing that voice, even when encountering those eyes…

“It’s worth enduring!”

As the Dominating Aura said, it was bearable.

“Soon, even the ancient gods will cower before us! Ha, ha, ha!”

He dismissed those words full of presumption, and instead mocked the god of chaos.

“You’re bleeding.”

Red blood was flowing from the Saint.

The Saint had died, and the fact that red blood was coming out meant one thing:

It’s over.

The ritual intended to summon the god of chaos had failed.

‘The Saint, finally, is dead.’

In reality, his condition was such that it wouldn’t be surprising if he died at any moment;
it’s just that, while the ritual was unfolding, he was in a state between life and death.
But the ritual stopped, and death came to the Saint.

He, staring intently with those gray eyes, without laughter or tears, or any hint of emotion - as intensely as to challenge him - said:

“Don’t presume.”

The god of chaos, resentful for having lost everything, was doing this.

Cale judged the situation that way and mocked him at will.

Tremble…

It was a sign that the trembling of the Sacred Object, held in both hands, was gradually diminishing.

Soon, that trembling would also cease.

Then…

“Really, is it over?”

The sword that had been plunged into the Saint’s abdomen was pulled out.

No, it fell.

The sword fell to the ground.

Plaf!

The sword, resting in a puddle of mud where the water had vanished,
but there was no time to pay attention to it.

Ras, ras…

The Saint’s abdomen opened, and inside…

“Do you really think it’s over?”

A pair of eyes opened.

“Ah.”

Those are really those eyes.
Cale remembered when he first took the Sacred Object, and when he first faced the power of the god of chaos;
he realized that those eyes were exactly those.

His body tensed slightly.

“It’s okay!”

But, in truth, he felt better than before.

“When you faint and wake up, you’ll be completely fine to face them again! The glutton has eaten a lot!”

He ignored the lively voice of the Dominating Aura, because there was no time for it.

Uuuung–!

A silver shield formed between Cale and the god of chaos.

“I clearly told you not to mess with our Human!”

As always, the great dragon.

Raon created a shield, forming a barrier between Cale and that being, which significantly improved the situation.

Blink.

Cale, clinging to reason, mocked:

“Hey, you’re bleeding.”

Dripping. Just as he said, those eyes were shedding red blood.

"Stop pretending and disappear."

Act as if you have no divinity.

Another slight laugh could be heard.
Cale laughed sarcastically again.

Pashs–!

Because the Saint’s body was gradually disintegrating into dust,
and Cale remembered something:

‘If the god of chaos really intervenes now…’
in that case, Cale would have one more thing to do.

‘Red Hand!’

In this world, an almost divine game system had granted Cale absolute power - a punishment that he can impose on those entities that break the rules.

Red Hand!

‘If I could hit the god of chaos with that, those eyes with a single blow…!’

Hehehe!

The corner of Cale’s mouth rose.

Before he fainted, he wanted to use that blow and end everything;
thinking about what he had suffered because of that guy, anger rose in him.

Pashs–!

But the Saint’s body was fading more and more rapidly.

“…….”

The eyes, which watched Cale continue to laugh, blinked once.

“Mmm.”

And they laughed.

Those eyes, curved like a crescent moon, looked very seasoned.

“—Yes. They can’t be shown in a more terrible way.”

Pashs–!

The Saint’s body, from which everything had disappeared except his abdomen,

the eyes told Cale:

“—One day, the seed that has been bestowed upon you will grow and welcome me.”

Blink.

Cale’s eyes blinked.

“Wow.”

Now it really is the limit.

Cale bid farewell to the god of chaos.

“If you’ve lost, get out of here once and for all.”

With those words…

Blink.

The god of chaos smiled and blinked.

Pashs–!

And, then, those eyes disappeared.
Besides, the Saint’s body disintegrated in an instant and vanished.

Blink.

And Cale too…

—Fainted.

He fainted, just as Super Rock said.

Darkness came.

It was a very clean faint.

And although Cale didn’t see it, in the canyon, an untouched night arrived:
the formation of light disappeared,
the dark red clouds vanished,
the gray smoke dissipated,
and a twilight night settled over the canyon, in which countless stars twinkled among the dense gray forest.

“It’s crazy…”

And the person who captured all those images,   the user “CrazyExhibitionist”, couldn’t stop the tears that were falling in torrents.

“Amazing…!”

He shouted amidst sobs:

“The world, that person just saved the world! Amazing! It’s incredible! Uuuah! The human told a God to get lost! Damn, how impressive, it’s so cool! Uuuah!”

CrazyExhibitionist went crazy.

===================

–What the hell? What is this video that that exhibitionist uploaded?

–It’s a live stream, isn’t it?

–Damn it, dragon! What a cute dragon! Baby dragon! Where the hell are we?!

–It seems to be the Demon Kingdom.

–Hey, did you see the mission that appeared? They say save the game!

–…What’s going on? I don’t understand anything at all.

===================

And his streaming channel also collapsed.
