TOTCF 2 (Novel) Chapter 402

## C402

Is it worth trying?

Cale, seeing Cheapskate's reaction, made a firm decision.

“I have no intention of fighting.”

“Why would I fight that Wanderer?”

“Why am I suffering so much right now?”

I’m doing this to provoke that Wanderer and the Chaos God’s Cult to fight. Why the hell would I have to fight that Wanderer?

Heh.

Cale let out a smile.

“Don’t get your hopes up unnecessarily.”

He made his purpose clear to Cheapskate.

And suddenly, he heard Ancient Dragon Eruhaben say:

“Don’t laugh.”

“Mm.”

At that moment, Cale, with his hands and feet bound, was moving, hanging from Eruhaben’s shoulders.

The direction led to Hinpa’s compound, on the way to a small island located in the center of the Calm Lake.

–Heh, heh.

Suddenly, Cheapskate let out a laugh.

–Cale.

And he said in a low voice:

“Do the opposite of what you say on these occasions?”

–What?

Although Cale’s face, half-hidden by bandages, frowned,

–Kahahahaha!

Cheapskate began to laugh as if he had suddenly gone mad.

“What’s wrong with him?”

It was like when Cale intensified the destructive fire by emptying a bag of money.

–Cale, release the money!

After a long time, Cheapskate asked for a boost.

–You are now on your way to leaving the angels behind and becoming a god. So, you have to spend the money like you are a god. Release the money. I also want to unleash my power like a god. My essence is money.

And Cale thought:

“What nonsense!”

He ignored it lightly.

“……”

Although he noticed that Cheapskate was discouraged, Cale didn’t care.

His gaze discreetly turned forward.

“The King is guiding the Wanderers well.”

The King Tamahi, in contrast to her tension, led the Wanderers from the front until they reached the island.

Cale, from the rear, observed that scene with his gaze.

Chap.

As soon as the Wanderer (female) set foot on the island, she said:

“It’s a mess!”

The hall where Hinpa was located had completely exploded, disappearing without a trace, and the rest of the surroundings were in chaos.

Even the garden, which although not ostentatious and was cared for with a serene atmosphere, seemed to have been destroyed as if it had received a hurricane.

“…It has collapsed.”

The surrounding compounds were tilted or, for the most part, collapsed.

The ancient island where the members of the Lan Kingdom’s royalty lived no longer existed.

“Yes. Thinking about reconstruction is really complicated.”

The King Tamahi continued to say only the truth.

The Wanderer, observing the place where Lord Hinpa’s hall was located, headed towards the nearest compound.

A strange coldness was perceived in the woman’s voice.

“It has vanished.”

An unusual glow appeared in her eyes.

“It’s not that it’s destroyed, but that it has completely disappeared.”

The nearby compound was collapsed, with half of the structure lost.

However, nowhere was there any trace of that other half.

Even small pieces of wood or stones that supported the columns would be expected to be found.

“……”

The Wanderer crouched down and extended her hand.

“…Dust.”

The only thing left was dust, so fine that no shape could be distinguished; it was disintegrated to have particles smaller than sand.

“This wasn’t a simple explosion.”

It’s not possible for an explosion to produce this kind of dust.

Throughout the island, what had lost its original shape had turned to dust.

“Power!”

It must have been some skill capable of creating something like this.

From afar, Cale observed the scene and took a look at Ancient Dragon Eruhaben.

(A slight movement.)

The corner of Eruhaben’s mouth rose slightly and then quickly lowered.

Then, Eruhaben, with a strange premonition, turned his head and met Cale’s gaze.

“……”

“……”

The human and the dragon pretended not to know each other.

“!”

At that moment, Eruhaben’s gaze turned to the Wanderer.

Uuuu—

The Wanderer took a small sphere from her lap.

“It seems we have arrived.”

The moment she said that calmly, an unusual glow reflected in Cale’s eyes.

The King Tamahi had mentioned about the Wanderer:

“So far I have met two Wanderers.”

Excluding Sohyi, there were two.

“I couldn’t even calculate their skill level.”

Besides, one more appeared.

With this, Cale encountered a total of three Wanderers in this place.

Uuu—

The air vibrated and, next to the female Wanderer, a magic circle appeared with a bright light.

It was a teleportation circle.

Bang!

In the place where the bright light vanished, there was a man.

“Hmm?”

Cale’s forehead frowned slightly.

And Super Rock went to speak:

–They look alike, don’t they?

The newly arrived man strangely resembled the female Wanderer, as if they were from the same family.

“Have you come?”

The female Wanderer spoke to him in a very familiar tone.

Then, the man looked around.

“……”

After that, his gaze stopped on King Tamahi.

“Well.”

The moment the woman let out a sigh,

“Mm.”

Right then, Ancient Dragon Eruhaben swallowed and shuddered.

Kaboom!

An explosion occurred.

“Argh!”

And the King Tamahi groaned, falling to the ground rolling.

“Your Majesty!”

“Your Majesty, are you alright?”

Cha-run and his assistant hurried to approach and lift her.

“Eh, I’m fine.”

The King Tamahi, gesturing “I’m fine”, got up on her own.

She had no noticeable injuries.

Gulp.

However, as she swallowed, her eyes trembled, and a shiver ran down her neck.

–Cale, did you see it?

‘Yes. I saw it.’

And Cale observed:

–“It was fire.”

Just as Super Rock said, it was fire.

The newly arrived Wanderer (male), the moment he pointed his finger at the King Tamahi, a flame ignited in front of her.

–“And again, ice?”

But the female Wanderer stopped that flame.

Because of that, an explosion occurred in front of the King; although Tamahi ended up rolling on the ground, thanks to that she avoided being hit by the flames.

“Cho! I told you not to do that, right?”

The female Wanderer called out to the man.

The newly arrived Wanderer. His name was Cho, also known as Chou.

Cho, hearing the tone of her voice, turned his gaze towards the King and spoke:

“Where is Sohyi?”

Ahh.

The female Wanderer sighed:

“Cho, calm down.”

“What am I supposed to calm down about?”

At the answer, charged with irritation, the woman sighed again, which further furrowed Cho’s brow.

“Ryŏn, don’t you find it strange that you are so calm now?”

The woman’s name was Ryŏn, also known as Ryeon.

With an expression that seemed to say “I knew it”, she narrowed her eyes.

At that, Cho became even more irritated and raised his voice:

“Hey! You know very well what Sohyi means to me!”

The serene Ryŏn and Cho, unable to hide his emotions, were very much alike.

“They look like brothers.”

Cale recorded the image of those two in his gaze.

“One is ice and the other, fire.”

It was sublime.

It seemed that both worked together.

“You already know, Cho, for you, Sohyi is…”

Ryŏn began to speak, but stopped and, after glancing around her, Cho didn’t care; on the contrary, he seemed irritated that Ryŏn had fallen silent.

“Sohyi is what? Why did you stop talking?”

“No, it’s just… ahh, there are too many ears listening around us.”

“Ears? Where are the ears?”

Eh.

At that answer, Ryŏn sighed even more deeply.

Meanwhile, the corner of Cale’s lips rose and fell slightly.

‘Look at that guy!’

Here were Cale, Eruhaben, and people from the Lan Kingdom; despite there being five people in total, it is said that the Wanderer Cho “has no ears” – which is evidenced by the fact that he attacked the King Tamahi as soon as he saw her.

–He’s terrible!

At the opinion sent by Sky Eating Water – an Ancient Power – Cale nodded silently.

“Sohyi is practically my disciple! She’s the first one I discovered!”

“You know, that’s why she followed you so closely.”

“I know very well how strong that girl is. But, to disappear suddenly? And at the hands of these insignificant humans? Does it seem logical to you?”

Oh!

Between the excited Cho and Ryŏn, who was trying to calm him down, it was evident in their conversation that Sohyi was very important to Cho.

“That’s how things have been.”

Cale, finally, began to understand the situation a little: why Sohyi had been working and staying in the Lan Kingdom, and also, why two Wanderers of such a level that not even Choi Han and Heavenly Demon together could defeat them, were so intent on this matter.

“How dare they—”

Cho’s gaze, which seemed to want to finish off the King Tamahi, slowly turned towards Ryŏn.

“Ugh.”

Tamahi let out a moan.

Roar…

A flame began to undulate around Cho, as if it were an aura.

–Oh.

While Cheapskate reacted, Cale measured Cho’s energy.

“It’s similar.”

That woman, the Wanderer Ryŏn, was at the same level.

“Cho.”

At that moment, seeing Tamahi and the others scared, Ryŏn spoke:

“It’s the Chaos God.”

“…What?”

Cho’s gaze, which seemed to want to kill the King, slowly rested on Ryŏn.

“I think Hinpa – or rather, the Chaos God – has betrayed us.”

“They?”

“Yes. It is presumed that a minion of the Chaos God murdered Hinpa-gong and took Sohyi.”

Cho didn’t express any doubt; he always followed the opinion of his twin sister Ryŏn, because, for his impulsive and fiery character, her sanity had always been the right one. This time would be no exception, because the fact that the cautious Ryŏn pointed to the Chaos God meant that she was, at least, 90% sure.

“I think he went towards the sanctuary.”

The moment Ryŏn finished speaking, Cho closed his eyes.

The Chaos God’s sanctuary…

“It’s the Primordial Night.”

“That’s right.”

Ryŏn nodded calmly.

Cho opened his eyes again.

Frrrr–

The aura that enveloped him began to undulate with more intensity and burned fiercely, as if it were a volcano about to erupt; it looked like undulating red lava.

“How dare they—”

A reddish hue darkened around his eyes.

“How dare they, the Chaos God, stab us in the back?”

Crack! Crack!

From under his feet, the earth began to completely char; in addition, through the cracks, flames emerged as if they were boiling lava.

“Ahh!”

The assistant could barely breathe, and the same happened to Cha-run and the King Tamahi.

They backed away.

The formidable energy, which simply surrounded Cho, was suffocating; it was like the feeling of wandering through a desert without finding water, a pressure that seemed as if everything would dry up and be consumed by flames.

“Mmm.”

Eruhaben groaned and backed away (although, of course, he was carrying Cale on his back).

‘He really knows how to act well.’

The dragon, with so many years of life, knew how to act perfectly.

If Choi Han’s acting level was at the bottom – or even in the basement – the dragon’s would be in another league.

‘…He’s really strong.’

Then, Cale carefully observed Cho, and he also noticed Ryŏn, who was standing next to him unfazed.

The two, who looked like brothers – ice and fire – made Cale imagine the scene of those two fighting together.

If two people of opposite natures joined forces…

“I don’t think it’s easy.”

It would surely cost them a lot; he’s someone that not even Choi Han and Heavenly Demon together could face.

And now they would face two of that caliber?

If, in addition, they were real brothers, their movements would be perfectly coordinated.

‘Definitely…’

Cale promised himself:

“Somehow, I must make those two fight the Chaos God’s Cult without fail!

I must make both sides weaken and, when the opportunity arises, give them a blow from behind!”

He decided it for real.

–Cale.

Ancient Dragon Eruhaben dared to cautiously express to him:

“—We stay still and just take advantage.”

As expected, experience had led him to conclude the same as Cale.

Without a doubt, among so many dragons, for Cale to work with Eruhaben was the safest thing.

And Eruhaben, after transmitting his idea to Cale, observed the two Wanderers and thought:

“I must become stronger.”

Being a Dragon, if I stay calm, I won’t be able to face even a single Wanderer.

“I could end up making a fool of myself in front of Roan.”

I can’t allow myself to show a mediocre Dragon in front of Roan.

“I must become stronger…!”

The Dragon, who had been strong since his birth, wondered how to further increase his strength, but he didn’t forget the past:

“Dust.”

Despite the criticisms that said his qualities were weak, he had turned them into dust, into ashes, crushing them.

Back then and now were different.

“Anyway, I think I’ll lose to those Wanderers.”

Perhaps, the task of facing them could correspond to Heavenly Demon or Choi Han, because they possess aura.

“In the end, the key is aura.”

To fight the Wanderers, that seemed to be the way to go.

He remembered his disciple, Rosalyn, and also another human: Alberu Crossman.

Clopeh Sekka and Mary also came to mind.

“Mm.”

For some reason, he thought they would awaken aura. Especially Rosalyn, without a doubt, would achieve it.

“I cannot be left behind.”

Eruhaben’s gaze darkened deeply.

With a rejuvenated body and accumulated experience, he carefully observed that power, different from Dragon Blood.

“Uniqueness and aura.”

After all, it resembled the characteristics of dragons and Dragon Blood.

It is said that he who has the dignity to become a god is a Loner.

If the only thing they can have is their uniqueness…

“They say a Dragon cannot become a God.”

That’s what everyone says.

“It doesn’t matter. After all, the Wanderers are not Gods either.”

And what does it matter to be a God?

A rejuvenated dragon… never before had one been seen like this.

Eruhaben was convinced that he could forge another story, achieve something extraordinary.

Therefore, he began to devise a way to become even stronger.

“Hmm?”

After a brief moment of reflection, he shuddered.

“Ryŏn, let’s go to the Primordial Night immediately!”

“First, calm down. We need to get a few more clues.”

“We don’t need clues! We just behead him!”

“Ahh, okay. Give me just a little time. Anyway, we don’t know exactly the location of the Primordial Night…”

“But at least we have a general idea!”

“Yes, but, anyway, we must find the entrance.”

“If we look for it thoroughly, the entrance is sure to appear!”

Cho, excited, and Ryŏn, trying to calm him down, continued arguing.

Meanwhile, Eruhaben, who had captured important information, looked at Cale with a cryptic expression:

“—Cale, what’s wrong with you?”

At that question, Cale shook his head, although Eruhaben didn’t miss the discomfort reflected in his eyes.

“—What makes you uncomfortable?”

Cale shook his head.

Eruhaben, unable to resolve his doubt, looked away.

“—No, let’s not search forcefully. Cho, if Sohyi is still alive, we must rescue her. Therefore, we have to enter the sanctuary stealthily to make things easier. And also, we must convey this information to the family. We cannot act on our own.”

“Bah, let’s just destroy everything!”

“Cho!”

“Ah, I understand!”

While Cale recorded the conversation, he still felt a strange discomfort.

“—Ah. They’re going to have a hard time.”

He remembered that occasion when Cheapskate (Fire of Destruction) reacted similarly when he saw Cho and Ryŏn.

“—Why?”

Suddenly, Sky Eating Water intervened.

Cale began to feel uneasy.

“—That flame. Don’t you think it’s a good opponent?”

In the end, Sky Eating Water said that that flame and the Wanderer Cho were worth facing.

“—Well, you can always try.”

At those words, Cheapskate nodded, and then added:

“—But, Cale, you’re going to shed a lot of blood, aren’t you? It’s been a long time since you saw blood flow profusely! And I’m not talking about the side effects of your skills, but that you will really shed blood without stopping.”

Cale made it clear, in a resounding way:

“I have no intention of fighting those two!”

Especially,

“Definitely, I don’t think I’ll face both of them at the same time!”

He expressed his decision with determination.

At that, Fire of Destruction and Sky Eating Water responded, quite indifferently:

“—Yes. Okay.”

“—Yes. Okay.”

“—Cale, don’t worry.”

The fearsome Cheapskate tried to comfort Cale, but he still felt strangely uneasy, as if someone had hit him in the back of the head.

At that moment, the Wanderer Ryŏn addressed the King Tamahi:

“We are going to go in search of Sohyi.”

“But, we don’t know what our ally looks like.”

Her gaze rested on Cale, who was resting on his bodyguard Eruhaben’s shoulder.

“We must capture him.”

At that precise moment, Cale thought to himself:

“Great!”

Right then, Ancient Dragon Eruhaben spoke to him in his mind:

“—It’s going out as planned. I can follow you without a problem.”

“—And I must also contact Rosalyn so that she can move.”

Cale had already distributed to his companions the map to the Primordial Night, located in the Demon Kingdom.

Since Alberu Crossman and Rosalyn had already visited that place, Cale had agreed to meet them there.

“Hmm.”

Cale swallowed a smile, although hunched over, as he imagined the scene in which the Chaos God’s cult and the Wanderers would face each other.

And that excited him very much!

“—Is it worth trying? Better boost ourselves, okay?”

“—Or don’t you want to try?”

Of course, Cale decided to ignore what Fire of Destruction and Sky Eating Water said.

From now on, he wouldn’t pay attention to what those two said.
