TRAIGS (Novel) Chapter 882

C882

Raon first erased the reward message and then turned around. Burren, Martha, Runaan, and Sheryl were looking at him with questioning eyes.

“It’s understandable that you’re looking at me like that.”

It was natural for them to have doubts, as he was not only talking to Askara, but words like demon king and Devildom kept popping up.

“What are you going to do?”

Wrath seemed even more nervous as he moistened his lips with his tongue.

‘What else can I do but tell them?’

Glenn and Rector knew that Wrath was their friend and a demon king. It seemed right to tell those present, as they were as trustworthy as those two.

“Are you sure about this?”

‘Look.’

Raon smiled slightly as he met the eyes of Burren, Martha, and Runaan, who were slowly getting up.

“They have eyes that will believe everything I say.”

The three squad leaders of the Light Wind division did not look away, even though they were confused. That meant they would trust him no matter what happened. Dorian, though unconscious, would be no different.

‘And…’

He looked at Sheryl, who was lowering her twin swords. Although she was more nervous than the others because she had heard more, she didn't take a step forward. That meant she would listen to him first. Sheryl was also someone he could completely trust.

“T-then…”

Wrath’s hands trembled as he looked at Runaan and Martha.

“Finally, this king will be able to meet the ice cream girl and the meat girl!”

He seemed to be in a good mood, bouncing in the air. It hadn’t been long since he had cursed the system, but his emotions had already calmed down. He really was a coherent demon king.

“Raon…”

Sheryl approached with heavy steps.

“Can you explain what’s going on? Why are you talking strangely and why did that demon call you demon king?”

She looked at him with confidence, even in her confusion.

“How insolent!”

Wrath launched his chubby fist towards Sheryl.

“How strange this king’s way of speaking is! It is nothing but magnificent!”

He grabbed Sheryl by the neck and shook her, demanding an immediate apology.

“I heard it too.”

Burren nodded, holding his burned shoulder.

“He called you some kind of monarch, and demon king too.”

He sent a calm gaze, as if asking for an explanation of what it meant.

“Don’t rush it. He’ll explain if you wait.”

Martha, who looked like she would be the first to step forward, calmly suppressed her emotions.

“Yes, of course.”

Runaan also blinked calmly, as if he had decided to wait like Martha.

“As expected.”

Raon smiled softly as he looked at Sheryl and the three squad leaders.

“As expected?”

Martha tilted her head as if she didn’t understand.

“It’s not difficult to explain. Actually…”

As Raon was about to explain the situation, stones and earth began to crumble and fall from the ceiling.

“Let’s wake the others and get out of here first.”

Because of Askara’s fighting spirit, which was still so intense that it sent chills down his spine, not only this underground area, but the entire tunnel was about to collapse. Even with him and Sheryl present, if they were trapped underground, there would be no way out, so leaving this place was now the priority.

“Okay. That should come first.”

Sheryl nodded and woke up Borgos and the dwarf masters.

“Hey, Dorian! Wake up!”

Martha kicked Dorian, who was drooling and unconscious.

“Eh!”

Dorian jumped up as if he had been electrocuted.

“What? I’m sure a strange monster appeared…”

He opened his eyes in confusion, muttering that it must have been a dream.

“Don’t worry about that! Hurry up and take the people!”

Buren slapped Dorian on the forehead and pointed to the dwarf masters who were struggling to walk on their own.

“Eh? What’s going on all of a sudden?”

“The ceiling…”

Runaan raised his finger to point to the ceiling. The frost pillars he had temporarily created were cracking, and stones and earth continued to fall.

“Gasp!”

Dorian nodded as if he finally understood and carried three seriously injured dwarves at once.

“Master Borgos, please get on my back.”

Raon was about to carry Borgos on his back and with his head up when he stopped short. As the excitement subsided, the pain of his internal wounds suddenly intensified. With his energy center and surrounding mana circuits shattered, it was difficult to even walk on his own, let alone carry someone.

“Ugh, benefactor! I can walk on my own feet, please put me down.”

Borgos, apparently realizing that Raon wasn’t in good shape either, shook his legs and said he would get down.

“It, it’s okay.”

As Raon forced himself to walk, Sheryl, who was standing in front, approached.

“I’ll carry him. You just follow me.”

Sheryl seemed to already know his condition, as she lifted Borgos in her arms even though she was already carrying two people on her back. Despite her small frame, she looked like a giant carrying two adults on her back and Borgos in her arms.

“I’m sorry.”

“What are you sorry for? If it weren’t for you, we’d all be dead.”

Sheryl told him to follow her from behind as she moved to the front again.

“Yes.”

Raon let out a long sigh and followed Sheryl, who was leading the way.

“So, did the division leader take care of that monster?”

Dorian took a deep breath, seemingly remembering Askara, who had crossed dimensions.

“As expected of the division leader! I believed in you!”

“I didn’t kill him. How did you believe in me when you were unconscious?”

Raon turned to look at Dorian and snorted.

“Even when I was unconscious, I believed in the Division Leader in my heart!”

Dorian shook his head vigorously, insisting that he was sincere.

“Okay, just take care of the injured.”

“Yes, sir!”

He smiled as if to say that there was no need to worry and flexed his arms holding the people.

“Mmm…”

Raon frowned slightly as he moved his heavy legs with force. Although the state of excitement had already subsided, instead of becoming more difficult, his insides and body were starting to feel more comfortable.

‘What is this?’

Although he was a Transcendent with various characteristics, he wasn’t strong enough to recover quickly from the impact on his energy center. It was a good thing, but it was so strange that he suspected that it might not be a good thing after all.

“It’s because of that damn fighting spirit.”

Wrath frowned as he looked at him.

‘Fighting spirit?’

“The fighting spirit you got through that crazy performance!”

He clicked his tongue for a long time.

“Balrogs, being battle demons, have the adaptability to fight anytime, anywhere. What you got is the fighting spirit that the Balrog king possesses, so those wounds are nothing.”

Wrath sighed, saying that he had obtained a useless power.

‘I see.’

As he slowly examined the energy inside his body, he could see that the Balrog’s fighting spirit that had entered his liver was moving on its own, repairing the tears in his energy center and mana circuits.

“It’s a bit different from healing, but you should be able to endure it.”

“It seems so.”

“Ugh! To think such power was given to someone who doesn’t even know!”

Wrath threw his fist into the air, as if he was dying of regret.

“Maybe that’s why I got it.”

Raon smiled and quickened his pace.

“Eh? Are you okay?”

Dorian expressed his concern and told him not to walk too fast.

“I can handle it.”

Raon nodded and caught up to Sheryl. As he, who had been slow, moved quickly, they were able to reach the base of the Grey Hammer Guild before the entire underground space collapsed.

“This place is collapsing too. We have to go.”

Sheryl shook her head as she watched the rocks falling on the workshop that had been reduced to ashes.

“Yes, if we are going, hurry! We’re going to be crushed!”

Dorian’s chin trembled as if he was scared.

“Wait!”

Martha shook her head as she grabbed Dorian’s nape.

“Eh? But it’s dangerous…”

“We should wait for their final farewell.”

She raised her finger to point behind them.

“…”

Borgos and the masters bit their lips as they looked at their burned comrades and the workshop. They didn’t seem to stop their final farewell to their comrades even if they died here. Runaan created a cold energy barrier to protect everyone so that Borgos and the masters could say goodbye to their comrades one last time.

“Haha…”

He seemed to have overexerted himself because blood flowed from his mouth, but he didn’t manage to extinguish the cold energy at all.

“Let’s go…”

Borgos nodded, holding a blackened hammer that could have belonged to anyone.

“Thank you.”

Borgos bowed to Sheryl and Runaan, who were preventing the ceiling and floor from collapsing.

“I can understand those feelings too.”

Sheryl nodded with a slight smile.

“Yes…”

Runaan also blinked calmly, as if he felt the same.

“You’d better thank us when we get out. It’s very dangerous now.”

Burren swallowed dryly as he looked at the rocks and earth that were piercing through Runaan’s cold energy.

“Understood.”

Borgos nodded and went up to the surface with the masters.

“Let’s go too.”

Raon nodded and gestured to Burren, Martha, Runaan, and Dorian.

“Okay…”

“Sigh, even though we saved people, it doesn’t feel quite right.”

“May they rest in peace…”

Burren, Martha, and Runaan comforted the dead in their own way before leaving.

“…”

It was when Raon was about to go up last. A very weak negative energy emerged from inside the collapsing underground village and approached him. He tried to push it away, but that energy surrounded him from behind and seeped into the Requiem Sword.

‘What is this?’

Although it was clearly a negative and unpleasant energy, he didn’t feel like it could harm him. It felt like a vengeful spirit dwelling in the Requiem Sword.

I’ll have to investigate this later.

Raon let out a short sigh and went up to the surface. As soon as he went out, Sheryl’s energy disappeared and the entire underground village built by the Grey Hammer Guild collapsed, even a corner of the mountain broke off and fell.

“That was close.”

Dorian let out a sigh as he looked at the entrance to the underground village, which now had a complete hole.

“Mmm…”

Borgos bit his lips as he looked at the tunnel he could no longer return to. The dwarf masters also shed tears they had been holding back, their emotions seemed to have intensified.

“Haaa…”

Borgos grabbed the bloody ground with his thick fingers. After sorting out his emotions for a while, he approached Raon.

“Can you tell us what happened?”

Borgos tilted his head and asked to be told what he had discovered.

“Of course.”

Raon nodded and explained about the Balrog King and how those who summoned them were the minions of the Black Tower.

“I see. So that’s what happened…”

Borgos nodded and then fell to his knees.

“Borgos of the Grey Hammer greets the benefactor.”

“We greet the benefactor!”

The masters also bowed to Borgos.

“Please don’t do this.”

Raon shook his head and said their wounds would worsen.

“After having saved our lives and even avenged us, if we can’t even give this greeting, we have no right to live!”

Borgos pressed his head against the ground, insisting that he accept the greeting.

“Accept it.”

Sheryl approached him and grabbed his shoulder.

“You deserve to receive this great greeting.”

She rubbed her chin, saying that it would be more disrespectful not to accept the greeting.

“Okay. I’ll accept it, so please get up.”

Raon accepted Borgos’ greeting and took his hand.

“I will surely repay this debt.”

Borgos beat his chest, saying he would fulfill any request.

“Yes, I will be waiting.”

“No.”

He shook his head as he stood up.

“There’s no need to wait. I will start the work you asked me to do immediately.”

Borgos gritted his teeth and said he would start working right away.

“What? But in this situation…”

Raon let out a sigh and clasped his hands.

“No, it’s better to work in times like this.”

Borgos clenched his fist and said he felt like he could make even better weapons through these emotions.

“We feel the same!”

“We want to work!”

The other masters and dwarves also nodded, saying they would start working right away.

“I ask this of you.”

Borgos bowed again, asking to be entrusted with that task.

“I understand.”

Raon nodded with a slight smile.

“But where will you do the work?”

He couldn’t leave them here because it seemed dangerous because of the Black Tower.

“We will have to go to Zieghart.”

Borgos moistened his lips as he looked at him.

“By the way, do they accept refugees there?”

***

Since the dwarves had severe burns, they first returned to the Sephia family’s home to quickly heal their wounds. Thanks to Adis, the experienced merchant, who had healers and priests ready beforehand, everyone, including Borgos, was able to receive quick treatment.

“What a relief.”

Burren nodded as he closed the door to the treatment room.

“Yes. Fortunately, there will be no wounds with lasting effects.”

Martha nodded as she rolled up the bloodstained bandages.

“It’s thanks to you. This time.”

She nodded her head towards Runaan, who remained expressionless.

“Me…?”

Runaan tilted his head as if he didn’t understand.

“You maintained the cold energy barrier even while sweating profusely. If it weren’t for that, we might have had to cut flesh or amputate arms and legs.”

Martha nodded and said he had done well.

“The Rakshasa lady is praising…?”

Runaan opened his eyes wide, as if he was truly surprised.

“Who do you think I am, a demon? I can do it when I need to!”

Martha showed her teeth to Runaan.

“Ugh! There’s no point in praising you!”

She snorted as if she was annoyed.

“Don’t fight and let’s rest for now! I’ll guide you to the guest rooms!”

Dorian nodded as he squeezed between Martha and Runaan.

“Before that.”

Raon shook his head as he looked at the three squad leaders and Sheryl.

“I have something to say, so let’s go somewhere quiet.”

“Eh? Ah, yes!”

Dorian nodded and guided everyone towards the reception room. It was a luxurious place that seemed to flaunt the financial power of the company, but it was well soundproofed, making it ideal for quiet conversations.

“So, what did you want to say?”

Dorian shook his legs nervously.

“Do you have something urgent to do?”

Raon asked as he sat in the first seat.

“Yes. I need to distribute the other items before my father arrives…”

Dorian nodded and said he needed to complete the unfinished supply.

“No matter how you look at it, this guy isn’t normal either.”

Wrath shook his head, saying he was crazy in a different way, but at his level.

“If that’s the case, stay still.”

Raon pressed Dorian’s shoulder and sat in the first seat.

“Heavenly Blade division leader. No, Sheryl, please sit down too.”

“Okay.”

Sheryl also sat in the seat opposite, apparently having understood what he was going to say.

“Haha…”

Raon looked Burren, Martha, Runaan, Dorian, and Sheryl in the eyes.

“Yes, I can trust these people.”

There was no need to explain about Burren, Martha, Runaan, and Dorian… and Sheryl had risked her life with Rimmer before to save him and the Light Wind division. If he couldn’t trust these people, there would be no one in this world he could trust.

“About what happened before. Words like Devildom, demon, and demon king came up.”

Raon nodded as he clasped his hands in front of him.

“Yes. That fiery monster called you demon king.”

Burren nodded.

“No, didn’t Raon call himself demon king first?”

Martha shook her head and said that came first.

“…”

Runaan looked at him silently. It seemed like he was looking at him with eyes that said he would simply believe.

“Mmm…”

Sheryl didn’t say anything either, waiting for his next words.

“Eh? What do you mean by that…?”

Dorian tilted his head as if he didn’t understand what they were saying.

“I’m not a demon king or a demon. I’m a pure human. However…”

Raon looked at Wrath sitting on his shoulder and shook his head.

“The one with me is a monarch of Devildom.”

He explained about Wrath who was attached to his side.

“Mmm…”

Wrath’s lips trembled slightly, as if he was nervous about the explanation they had been given about him. He seemed to be unconsciously tense, not knowing how those he had grown fond of would react.

“A demon king…”

“Is he by your side?”

“…”

Burren and Martha opened their eyes as if their ears had failed them. Runaan just listened silently.

“I see. So all the impossible things that have happened so far…”

Dorian nodded, saying he now understood the inexplicable events that had occurred so far.

“Isn’t it dangerous?”

Sheryl lowered her head, worrying about him before anything else.

“Yes, he has really been a great help to me.”

Raon nodded with a slight smile.

“All this time…”

After taking a short breath, he told them everything that had happened up to that point.

“All that?”

“Ah…”

“So I’m alive thanks to that demon king too!”

Martha, Runaan, and Dorian trembled their chins, surprised by the help they had received from Wrath.

“When we were about to be wiped out by the Flame Demon General, the one who came out was…”

“Yes. It was this guy.”

Raon nodded to Burren.

“W-Wait! So!”

Burren stood up abruptly.

“What you have on your shoulder isn’t a sea spirit, but a demon king?”

He let out a gasp as he looked at Wrath with the eyes that Wrath had created for him.

“Yes. You can see his form like this now because this guy made you the eyes.”

Raon gently touched Wrath and smiled slightly.

“Finally, it has been revealed! It was this king who made you shine!”

Wrath lifted his chin and said to worship him.

“…Ugh.”

Burren bit his lip as he looked at Wrath.

“I thought demon kings were just beings that had to be defeated, but to think such things were happening behind the scenes…”

He met Wrath’s eyes looking at him and nodded as if he had made a decision.

“Thank you. Thank you for helping me. And for helping us.”

Burren knelt on one knee and bowed his head.

“The eyeball kid is thanking me?”

Wrath opened his eyes wide.

“I thought you would hate demons more than anyone, but…”

He trembled his chin as if he was surprised.

“Because he is no longer a child with strong prejudices.”

Burren was no longer a small child trapped in a single value. He thought of the help he had received first, rather than the negative existence of demons.

“If there’s anything you want, I’ll do whatever I can.”

Burren nodded and said he would do whatever he could.

“Is, is that true?”

Wrath opened his eyes wide.

“Is it really okay to say that?”

‘I’ll tell you.’

Raon nodded as he looked at Wrath, whose corners of his mouth were trembling.

“T-then, of course it’s food! Tell him to bring all the dishes that this king hasn’t tasted yet!”

Wrath shouted for them to bring all the delicious food, saying that Burren was rich and therefore should know good food.

“My friend says:”

Raon nodded with a smile.

“He wants mysterious and invisible swordsmanship techniques. The more valuable, the better.”

“Eh…?”

Wrath blinked in confusion as he looked at Raon.

“W-When did the king say that?! Food, I said! Not swordsmanship!”

He jumped up and down, asking what he was doing.

“Ah, not only swordsmanship, but footwork and body techniques are good too?”

Raon smiled again and stretched out his words.

“This guy seems to be very interested in human martial arts.”

“Is that so? Okay. I’ll bring everything I can get.”

Burren clenched his fist as if to say that he had to wait.

“Are you really human?!”

Wrath shouted as he grabbed his head.

“Not even those damn angels are as bad as you! Where the hell did you come from?!”
